COMPANY INDUCTION
INTRODUCTION
We provide this site-specific induction for all our Eureka Employees, labour hire and contractors prior to you performing any work on our site.
This information will help you stay safe and not impact the safety of others workers.
Visitors to the site will be supervised at all times and given a specific induction as required.
When arriving at work – If you are UNWELL you must inform your supervisor/manager and seek medical assistance.
Site Rules
All workers must follow all reasonable directions of Supervisors and Managers.
- All Workers must follow current social distancing rules.
Smoking is only permitted in the Designated Smoking Area(s).
No Swearing, Rude hand gestures, or demeaning comments.
The following PPE Must be worn in our factory and when working in the yard;
- Footwear – Steel Cap Boots.
- Hi-Visibility clothing (Vest).
- Ear, Eye and Hand Protection (Ear Muffs, Glasses, Gloves)

Electrical Safety
- All Electrical equipment must be inspected before use.
- Staff must report all electrical equipment and cords if they are frayed or damaged.
Worker Responsibilities
- All persons on site must treat each other professionally.
- Discrimination will not be tolerated.
- Workplace bullying, violence or practical jokes is not acceptable.
- Workers must take reasonable care of their health and safety and ensure that their actions (or inactions) do not put others at risk.
- Workers must comply with Site Rules, policies and procedures at this site.
- Workers must participate in Toolbox Talks and safety meetings where possible.
Housekeeping
- All persons on site must clear away their waste in a reasonable time.
- Construction Materials and waste must not be stored in walkways or other areas where it is a hazard to others.
- Workers are responsible for cleaning their work area prior to starting work.
Plant & Equipment
- Plant & Equipment must be used within manufacturer limitations.
- Persons Operating Equipment must NOT use their mobile phones. Including Making and Receiving calls, sending receiving of texts or using any other features.
- Operators must have completed Induction Training before operating machinery.
- Pre-Start checks must be conducted before equipment is used each day.
- PPE must be worn as per EUREKA requirements.
- Issues with equipment must be reported to the Supervisor Immediatley.
Emergencies and First Aid
- Workers must report all Incidents and Injuries to the Site Supervisor and complete an Incident form.
- Workers must know the location of First Aid Kits and Fire Extinguishers.
- Workers should call 000 in the event of an emergency.
- Workers must know the location of the nearest Medical Facility.
Hazardous Chemicals
- All Chemical containers must be labelled.
- PPE must be worn as per MSDS requirements.
- Workers must follow chemical handling instructions as per the chemical label.
- Spills must be cleaned immediatley.
Drugs & Alcohol
- There is a ZERO tolerance for drug and Alcohol use on site.
- You must not be under the influence of Drug or Alcohol while on this site.
- While at this site you may undergo random Drug and Alcohol testing.
- Workers found to be under the influence of Drugs or Alcohol will be banned permanently from site.
- Workers must report any suspicious activity to the site supervisor.
- You may not bring any drugs or alcohol onto this site.
Forklifts
- When working around Forklifts you must wear Hi Visibility Clothing.
- Always stay to pedestrian paths.
- When working with the Forklift – always make the Operator aware of your presence through verbal contact and/or hand gestures.
- Forklift Operators must conduct a Forklift Pre-Start checks at the start of their shift.
- Forklifts that are damaged or not functioning correctly must NOT be used.
- Forklift Operators are to stay to signposted speed limits.
- Forklift Operators are to use the Safety Belt and other safety devices included on the Forklift.
Supervisor Notes
The Supervisor will now explain the hazards specific to this site.
The Supervisor will now show you any “No-Go Zones”.
The Supervisor will now show you loading and unloading areas and security requirements.
